Scruton on the scientific method of "explaining" art

A very interesting new website called "Big Questions Online" recently caught our attention. It contains writings by some very notable philosophers and thinkers. A recent piece by Roger Scruton on the continuing trend towards using scientific methodology in the humanities is definitely worth recommending, a worthy critique of a disturbing (and frankly, incredibly silly) trend that touches on the oft-mentioned issue of how to ascertain meaning, worth and value in the context of art and beauty. Definitely worth a look for those interested in aesthetics and art. The article can be found here.
